A theatre-focused résumé leads with stage credits, names the company and director, and gives voice, movement, and dialect training room to be seen.

Theatre actors need résumés just as much as film and TV actors — and the format is nearly identical. Here's how to present your stage credits professionally.

Theatre Credit Section

List productions in this format: Play Title | Role | Theatre Company | Director

Include the city for regional productions. Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway, and Regional are all valid categories.

Training for Stage Actors

Conservatory training, MFA programs, and notable coaches carry significant weight in theatre casting. List voice training, movement training, and dialect coaching.

AEA Status

If you're a member of Actor's Equity Association, display it prominently. Non-Equity actors should note their status honestly.

Combining Theatre and On-Camera Credits

Many actors work across mediums. Use separate sections — Theatre, Film, Television — and lead with the section most relevant to the audition.

The Actor's Résumé Builder supports all credit categories and lets you reorder sections based on the roles you're pursuing.
